Below is my best attempt at a comprehensive list of childbirth classes being offered locally (or online, through local sources, as the case may be). If you know of something I missed, let me know in the comments or drop me a line at firstname.lastname@example.org, and I'll get it on here ASAP!
This is my course! It is entirely online, and includes information on all aspects of giving birth, plus getting started with breastfeeding and early newborn care. And as a bonus you have access to a private facebook group with other students facilitated by me and Bryn of The Birth Hour, PLUS a whole other course about going back to work while breastfeeding.
Head over here to listen to some (free!) podcasts I did to promote the course: www.revdoula.com/childbirth-education
Or head over here to get more information on the course and some great (free!) videos from The Birth Hour: courses.thebirthhour.com/video-series/
The Bradley Method is not for procrastinators! It is a 12-week course, so be sure to inquire early. Stephanie also offers a one weekend class as well as private classes. Breastfeeding is included in the full course, but a separate breastfeeding class is also available.
Your Best Birth is a one-day comprehensive childbirth education course designed to help you feel confident and prepared for the birth of your child. This is a private, in-home class.
Three Sisters Midwifery offers classes free of charge for their clients, but welcomes parents planning to give birth at a hospital or with another midwife/birth center in the area to their classes for a fee. They have 3 options available:
- Hypnobirthing & Positive Affirmations
- Alpha Christian Childbirth Education
- The Bradley Method
